W6H Mobile on Historic NM Route 66

W7QQ and KK6MC will be mobile on New Mexico  historic route 66 this weekend as part of the NM Route 66 on the air. We will go west of Albuquerque on Saturday to the AZ state line and East on Sunday to the TX state line. The loops in the photo above, from the June VHF contest, will be replaced with a screwdriver. There will be two other  mobiles on the air this weekend in NM, so there is no excuse not to work W6H from Route 66. We will try to cover all bands 40M to 10M (if open) and all modes, SSB, CW, and digital.  Listen for us!!

  1. I will put W6H on the air as I run mobile from Albuquerque to just south of Las Vegas NM, close to the original route (now I-25). Find my HF frequency at www.aprs.fi under K8TE-1. This occurs on Monday, 9 Sep, from 1130-1330 UTC, longer if I have a pileup going. 73, Bill, K8TE

  2. I will also run HF mobile on the reverse route, south of Las Vegas NM to Albuquerque, on I-25 on Wednesday, 11 Sep 2014. This time is less certain. It will be in the evening so check on my frequency at www.aprs.fi for K8TE-1. 73, Bill, K8TE
